Summer Staff Positions

2016 Lake Nixon Summer Day Camp staff
We are a Christian ministry and are looking for staff who have a strong love for both God and children. We are looking less for ‘employees’ and more for persons interested in making a difference in the lives of our campers. Our staff will be expected to attend staff training before camp (May 30-June 2), Open House (June 3) and Camp Carnival (July 27) as well as all regular daily scheduled activities.
This year our program will be a nine-week camp; June 5 through August 4. We are looking for staff who will commit to the entire nine weeks so that our campers and programming have the best continuity possible. We are expecting to employ 24 counselors and 6 lifeguards.
Counselors must be 18 years old and be a high school graduate. A counselor will be assigned to a group of campers and are required to be with their campers at all times. This means eating with your campers, swimming with your campers, participating in recreation with your campers, etc. If you are not committed to dedicating yourself fully to your campers while at camp, please do not request an application.
Lifeguards will be responsible for all activities at the water, leading swim lessons, helping with recreation activities and daily clean-up after camp. Lifeguards must be at least 15 years old and have completed an approved lifeguard-training course. Credentials will need to be submitted with your application.
