Lake Nixon Outdoor Preschool FAQs

Preschool FAQ PIC.jpgPreschool FAQ PIC.jpg

The Lake Nixon Outdoor Preschool is an all-weather learning community for children, ages 3-5. Our program closely follows a Forest Kindergarten model of full nature-immersion with emphasis on natural rhythms, seasonal changes and the natural sciences. Outdoor Preschoolers learn about the plants, animals and systems in their own surroundings while developing a strong, place-based connection to the natural world. Participating in nature art and open-ended, outdoor play will foster creativity and complete focus as well as expose children to a wide variety of possible interests, to be revisited, perhaps, in the future.

Our beautiful facilities, owned and operated by Second Baptist Church in downtown Little Rock, are located approximately 1.5 miles west of Interstate 430 in West Little Rock at 18500 Cooper Orbit Road. First Day of Outdoor Preschool is Monday, September 3rd, 2019.

What if it is raining or cold outside?

Your preschooler’s safety is our primary concern and we will constantly monitor weather, especially on stormy and/or very cold days. We want your preschooler to be safe, always, and we also want to stress the importance of a true outdoor experience.
