Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. and the City of Little Rock will host a Unity Service on Sunday, Jan. 15, as part of the City’s observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.
The Unity Service will start at 5 p.m. Sunday at Second Baptist Church Downtown, 222 E. Eighth St. The public is invited to attend. Dr. Jason Turner, senior pastor of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church in Memphis, will be the featured speaker.
As the Nation pauses to reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. King, Mayor Scott encourages all residents of Little Rock to join him, the Little Rock Board of Directors, other City officials and faith leaders for a program promoting a unified Little Rock that amplifies Dr. King’s values of service, equality and human rights.
The 2023 Unity Service is the first since 2020, following a pause of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
