We are excited to introduce you to our summer interns for 2020. While these internships will be dramatically modified because of the pandemic, we believe our church will benefit from having them and they will benefit from being with us. As of now, both interns will work remotely, though we hope to have them in Little Rock at some point.
JILLAN MITCHELL, PASTORAL INTERN
Our pastoral intern this year is Jillian Mitchell. I (Preston) first met Jillian when I became her pastor at Spring Creek Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She was a very young girl at that point, but I was still impressed by her wisdom and maturity. She graduated as Valedictorian of her high school class in 2018 and is currently a Letters Major, and a Piano Major at the University of Oklahoma, where she is also a Global Engagement Fellow.
Jillian has preached on multiple occasions (including this last February at 2BC) and she was selected as one of CBF’s 25 Youth to Know in 2018.
Jillian will begin on June 4th. If you want to welcome her to 2BC, you can do so at jill.e.m@icloud.com.
JACKSON CAMPBELL, FAMILY MINISTRY INTERN
Our Family Ministry intern this year is Jackson Campbell. Jackson came to us through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s intern program, Student.Church, but I (Brittany) quickly discovered that we had several mutual connections. Jackson was a summer intern last year at Brittany’s first church, Buechel Park Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. I can already tell he is extremely gifted and passionate and am excited to get to know him more as the summer progresses.
Jackson is a native of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and currently lives in Lexington, KY where he majors in Religion and minors in music at Transylvania University. He is an active member at Central Baptist Church in Lexington, KY, and is working with the congregation to intensify diversity and inclusion efforts in the life of the church. Outside of congregational ministry, Jackson is also the front-end supervisor at Gardenside Kroger, working every day to be friendly and caring to customers and employees alike, affirming their belovedness in humanity.
Jackson will begin on June 8th. If you want to welcome him to 2BC, you can do so at jecampbell22@transy.edu.
