WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP
God calls us all to use our gifts for leadership regardless of gender.
At Second Baptist, women lead in a variety of ways. Women preach, lead in worship, chair committees, host major events, serve in our community, teach church members of all ages, and so much more.
A word from 2BC Deacon, Lani Allenbaugh
Being a woman in ministry at Second Baptist means our church didn’t have to overlook my gender to see my gifts. Instead of worrying if a role was “appropriate” for me I could listen to the gentle voice of God and the wisdom of our congregation to guide me. 2BC has allowed me to stretch and find my authentic place in ministry- creating spaces for deep conversation and liturgical wisdom about doubt, grace, shame, and longing as we learn to see and trust God’s love for us.
Women’s Month of Preaching
Every year, in the month of March, we celebrate Baptist Women in Ministry’s Month of Preaching. We invite women to preach and honor their leadership in all levels of church life.
