Family Promise

Volunteers of all faiths are welcome in the organization to join in the work of reducing homelessness and transforming lives.

MLK Reads

Reading is an essential part of living a successful life in our world. Our educational system is set up so that students learn the mechanics of how to read from kindergarten through third grade. From fourth grade on, reading is used as a vehicle to teach other subject areas. Yet, in 2019 almost 35% of fourth graders in Arkansas were reading below grade level. We partner with Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Central Arkansas Water to coordinate a reading program at MLK Elementary in downtown Little Rock.

The One

The One serves our community by locating and loving our unsheltered homeless neighbors, wherever they may be. They primarily meet these needs by going to the people.  They visit current homeless camps, search for new camps, comb alleyways, check under bridges, and seek out people who are unhoused, etc. They take supplies such as food, water, clothing, and hygiene products to people where they are. They are dedicated to being relational, as opposed to programmatic.
