WHAT WILL MY middle-schooler DO ALL DAY?

At Lake Nixon our goal is to help build kids of character. Middle-schoolers will be engaged with a variety of age-appropriate recreational activities, opportunities for service, and opportunities to learn more about the outdoors and wildlife all through the Lake Nixon Outdoor Center!

WHO CAN ATTEND?

Middle School Day Camp is open to young men and women who have completed 6th grade. We expect reservations to fill up quickly, so download your registration form today. Middle School Campers will be divided into two teams and are placed under the care of trained counselors who are responsible for the campers at all times. Lifeguards and counselors closely supervise all water activities. Our swimming facilities are approved by the Arkansas State Department of Health.

WHAT ABOUT MEALS AND SNACKS?

Middle School campers will need to bring their own lunch. During Middle School Summer Day Camp campers will be exploring various areas of the Lake Nixon Outdoor Center grounds and taking field trips to locations around Central Arkansas. Since campers will not always be on the Lake Nixon campus or near the Snack Shack during lunch, campers will need to bring their own lunch to have available to them during lunch time.
Snacks will be provided to campers each morning and afternoon. The cost for all snacks is included in the session fee.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

There is a one-time registration fee of $45 per middle school camper regardless of the number of sessions the child attends.

Session fees are:

$300 for Session 1 (June 19th-23rd & June 26th-30th [STEM focus through Science Action Club])

$300 for Session 2 (July 10th-14th & July 17th-21st [Social Justice/Service in the Community focus])

Fees include morning and afternoon snacks and all programming materials.

WHAT IF my middle-schooler DOesN’T WANT TO ATTEND both sessions?

Your camper may attend one or both sessions, however, the camper must attend both weeks of either Session 1 or Session 2. The focus for Session 1 will be STEM activities as part of a Science Action Club. The focus for Session 2 will be social justice and service opportunities in the community. Registration preference will be given to middle school campers attending both sessions.

WHAT ARE DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP TIMES?

Campers may be dropped off at Lake Nixon after 7:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 5:30 p.m. All campers must be signed in and out by persons authorized on their pick-up list.

IS TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE?

You may drop off your child at one location and pick them up at a different one.

WHEN IS OPEN HOUSE?

There will be an Open House at Lake Nixon for registered campers and parents on Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to noon. Campers and parents have the opportunity to view the facilities, meet the counselors and staff, receive additional information and ask questions.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

In case of inclement weather, we have numerous covered pavilions, a lodge and our crafts building to provide shelter. So, Lake Nixon is open rain or shine!
